Human Resource Manager
Tansi! I was hired with AMO on June 24, 2024 as the HR Manager. When I was hired, I brought an unbiased opinion to the organization. I didn’t know who all worked at AMO so my first day was filled with anxiety.
My education background includes a Bachelor of Arts from the U of A and a M. Ed from Gonzaga University. I also have a Certified Indigenous Human Resource Professional (CIHRP) certificate from AFOA as well as a Life Skills Coach Training Certificate. I have been in the field of Human Resources for over 20 years starting as a Personnel Manager. I have found that the most important aspect of HR is to know the policies of the company and have knowledge of Employment Law.
I am a member of Samson Cree Nation, born and raised. I have 4 children and I am married to Clint Morin. My greatest asset are my children and grandchildren, I started my education journey in an effort to pave the way for them. In order to preach about getting an education I had to show them that it was attainable.
I am grateful to the Louis Bull Tribe for giving me the opportunity to work for AMO. The work I do is for the interest of AMO and I will continue to do so as long as I work at AMO.

Asikiw Mostos Opikinawasiwin has as its philosophy placing the needs of the Awasisahk first, through keeping families together, a philosophy which I truly admire. I began working with Asikiw Mostos Opikinawasiwin Society as a Senior Policy Analyst. Soon after I became the Strategic Policy and Planning Manager. My duties are to review, evaluate, and determine whether current policies align with AMO goals, and how these can meet positive changes within AMO Society.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts degree, both in History. Over the past 25 years, I have analyzed policies through my studies and through my work experiences. I was the Band Administrator for Ermineskin Cree Nation and Sunchild First Nation and as such, have in depth knowledge of managing staff, budgets, and policies. I have had to address changes to departmental policies, as well as monitor legislative changes from external governments which impacted our First Nations.
I am Anishinaabe (originally from Whitefish River, Ontario) and married Rick (Patrick) Lightning 40 years ago, Ermineskin Cree Nation. Over our 42 years of being together, we have raised 10 children and many others who we call our children. We can be found in the winter travelling to hockey arenas, and in the summer to powwows and other sporting events to support our awasisahk, nosimak and capanak. We have a strong belief in Nehiyaw Pimatisiwn and we instill this way of living with our family.
